A rain and snow mix is predicted to start Tuesday night and turn to snow as the storm progresses further northeast and temperatures fall. New York and Washington, D.C., may get as much as 8-12 inches of snow. Boston could see 3-12 inches, and Pittsburgh is slated to receive between 1 and 3 total inches of precipitation.
The Northeastern U.S. has been hit with several major winter storms throughout February, and many areas are facing record low temperature and high snowfall totals.
Travelers are advised to allow extra time to commute on roadways to allow for cautious driving in inclement conditions. Burlington long term parking is available for individuals traveling through the airport.
Roadways are likely to remain icy in the area into the weekend as temperatures range between a high of 38 degrees Fahrenheit on Wednesday with lows between 2 degrees below and 14 degrees over the next few days. Consider driving slowly to avoid spin-outs and dangerous pile ups. Some people keep kitty litter or sand in their car to use in case of icy conditions that cause them to get stuck along the roadway.
