According to The Weather Channel, Chicago and all of Cook County is under a winter weather advisory until noon on Monday, March 23.
O'Hare is experiencing heavy snowfall with accumulations that could reach up to 5 inches by the end of the day. The snow is making driving treacherous with limited visibility and slippery, wet road conditions. The forecasted snow may linger as temperatures remain near freezing until Wednesday, when the high may reach 58 degrees Fahrenheit.
According to FlightStats, O'Hare travelers are facing an average delay of 87 minutes as of Monday morning due to ground delays caused by the wet and icy conditions. Flights are said to be affected until 7 p.m. Monday night. If you are traveling into or out of O'Hare today, be sure to check with your airline to see if your flight is experiencing similar delays.
Travelers who are making their way through O'Hare parking should drive with caution and expect slippery roadways until crews salt and sand airport parking and the roadways leading to and from O'Hare. Keep an eye on the weather forecast so you can be properly dressed for the colder temperatures.
