Winter Storm Watch for Dallas CountyDate: February 24, 2015 | Category:
Travelers heading to Dallas Love Field airport should plan to bring warm gear and drive with caution during Tuesday night and Wednesday travel. The entire Dallas County area is under a Winter Storm Watch, according to the Weather Channel.
The watch is in effect from midnight Tuesday, Feb. 23 to noon on Wednesday, Feb. 24. The Weather Channel is predicting 2 to 4 inches of snow with more accumulation possible locally. The precipitation will be a mix of snow and potentially sleet or ice that can greatly impact air travel as well as roadways.
The temperature is expected to rise to 53 degrees Fahrenheit on Wednesday, turning the snowy mix into a slippery winter mess. Any precipitation left on Thursday has a chance of refreezing and staying that way into the weekend as temperatures drop from the mid-50s on Wednesday to the mid-40s and even 30s on Thursday and Friday.
It is recommended that travelers use caution when making their way to and from Dallas Love Field airport parking as the roadways may be slippery with the newly fallen snow and ice. Check with your airlines to see if your flight has been delayed or canceled due to the winter storm.
